Remus
Manoleanu - born in Alba Iulia, Romania, he studied
at the Music High School in Cluj, then he earned a degree in
piano from the National University of Music in Bucharest, but
also in Philosophy at the Universisty of Bucharest, attended
master classes at the Moscow Conservatoire (with Professor Neuhaus),
and earned a Ph. D. in music.
In 1972 he received the "George Enescu" National Scholarship.
He has had concert and solo engagements in the country and abroad
(the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Brazil,
North Korea, Russia, Syria, the USA, etc.) and had 3,000 minutes’
recordings with the Romanian Radio Society and on the Electrecord
label.
A reader at the National University, he is also one of the founders
of the "Bianca" Cultural Foundation which aims at
promoting the Romanian lied.
