East-West Chamber Orchestra

The East-West Chamber Orchestra – the orchestra-in-residence at the Yuri Bashmet International Music Festival, was founded in 2015 by famous pianist and conductor Rostislav Krimer and understands itself as an Orchestra-for-Peace, which strengthens the bonds and cultural co-operations between Eastern and Western Europe as well as East and West.

Comprised of outstanding soloists, including laureates of most prestigious international competitions like Tchaikovsky, ARD, Queen Elisabeth and Long-Thibaud, and concertmasters and leaders of renowned orchestras, performing on exceptional instruments including Stradivaris, Guarneris, Guadagninis and Goffriller.

The first CD with Weinberg Chamber Symphonies 1 and 3, released by Naxos in 2019 was warmly accepted and collected successful reviews worldwide including Gramophone as well as nominating for ICMA and Opus Klassik Awards.

Performing regularly during the festivals and tours with best artists like Yuri Bashmet, Fazil Say, Sergej Krylov, Julian Rachlin, Alexander Knyazev among many others, the orchestra is an active promoter of contemporary music and new repertoire, as well as creating new projects for youth, children, babies and pregnant women, participates in charity events for children, working with UNICEF and collecting funds for children’s health programs.
