Vlad Dimulescu

Born in Brașov, started to play piano at Music High School in his native town .He continued and graduated his musical studies at Music Conservatory „Ciprian Porumbescu” Bucharest at piano-class of prof.Constantin Ionescu-Vovu, accompaniment with prof.Martha Joja, and chamber music with prof.Petre Lefterescu . He completed in 2000, under the supervision of prof.Valentin Timaru, his PhD dissertation (Benchmarks of Bel Canto in Chopin’s Pianistics).

He became university assistent at Music Faculty of University„Transilvania” Braşov, and from 1993 University Assistent at Keyboard Department at National Music University Bucharest (UNMB). In present he is Phd. Professor at the same Department also the Head of Keyboard and Chamber Music Department.

He started piano career at 14 years old with Brasov„George Dima” Philarmonic Orchestra directed by Ilarion Ionescu-Galaţi and he played Beethoven second concerto.Ater this event he performed in all the important musical center: Bucharest, Cluj, Iaşi, Braşov, Sibiu, Timişoara Craiova, Arad, Oradea, Tîrgu Mureş, Satu-Mare, Bacău, Botoşani, Ploieşti, Râmnicu Vâlcea, Piteşti, Constanţa. He played with all romanian orchestras directed by. Cristian Mandeal, Horia Andreescu, Emil Simon, Iosif Conta, Mircea Cristescu, Emanuel Elenescu, Ilarion Ionescu-Galaţi, Ludovic Bacs, Petre Sbârcea, Ovidiu Bălan, Remus Georgescu, Corneliu Dumbrăveanu, Gheorghe Costin, Valentin Doni, Richard Oschanitzky, Modest Cichirdan, Szalman Lorant, Dorin Frandeş, , Florin Totan, Cristian Brâncuşi, Cristian Neagu, Camil Marinescu, Leonard Boga, Cristian Oroșanu, Tiberiu Oprea, Eduard Serov, Peter Fanger, Jing Wang, Daisuke Soga, Alain Paris, Bruno Martinotti, Gudmundur Emilsson, Tateo Nakajima, Juan Jose Olives, Enzo Ferraris, Massimiliano Caldo , Roberto Salvalaio, Vitorior Parisi, Gheorghi Dimitrov, Ivan Iliev, Rachel Ward etc.

He played piano recitals and chamber music at Romanian Atheneum „Ateneul Român”, The Big Hall of National Radio Broadcast , The Big and the Small Hall of Royal Palace (all in Bucharest) , also in the main halls of philarmonics: Cluj-Napoca, Iaşi, Braşov, Sibiu, Timişoara, Craiova, Bacău, Tg.Mureş, Satu-Mare, Ploieşti.

He performed at international festivals such as : Interforum”Budapest, ”Dinu Lipatti” (Sinaia and, Bucharest), Music Chamber Festival (Braşov), International Festival „George Enescu”(Bucharest); „Soiree Lipatti”, Icelandic Music Festival (Reykjavik- Kopavogur ), „Festival de Musique de Besancon” (France), „Les Nuits Pianistiques ”(Kishinev-Moldavia).

He played piano recitals and concerts in : Italy (Roma, Bari, Pescara, Campobasso, Sulmona), Germany (Karlsruhe, Berlin), Poland (Warsaw, Zelazowa Wola, Opole, Gdansk), Spain (Madrid, Vigo, Pontevedra), Portugal (Porto, Guimaraes,Villareal), Hungary (Budapesta, Kesthely), Iceland (Reykjawik, Kopavogur), Greece (Thessaloniki), Bulgaria (Sofia, Plovdiv, Russe) Turkey (Ankara). Master-classes in : Italy, Portugal, Spain, Iceland, Greece, Poland and Bulgaria.

He is a prize winners in piano competitions :”George Enescu”(Bucharest) Vina del Mar (Chile), ”Gh.Dima ” (Cluj), Salerno (Italy), Laureat of the A.T.M Prize and the Prize of Musical Critics.

He was a jury member at international/national piano competitions such as:”Pro Piano”(Bucharest) ”Carl Filtsch” (Sibiu), ”Lyons”( Bucharest) ,”Victor Giuleanu” (Bucharest), „ Mihail Jora” (Bucharest) ”Mozart”(Târgovishte), ”Seiler” Sofia(Bulgaria), Piano Art Is (Iassi) ,Enkore (USA).

He edited two C.D.-s: Enescu,Chopin and Brahms and „Chopin recital-Vlad Dimulescu” .

In 2004 he published the book „Belcanto in Chopin’s Pianistic”.
