Welcome to the Enescu Competition! You have made a great choice for your career! Some of the remarkable cellists who participated in the George Enescu International Competition before you, and who have launched their international careers after the Competition, are: Tian Bonian (China), Valentin Răduțiu (Romania), Michal Korman (Israel), Eun-Sun Hong (South Korea), Marcel Johannes Kits (Estonia) and many more. The winners of the Enescu Competition will receive financial prizes, masterclasses and will benefit of international publicity. Winning the first place at the Enescu 2020 Competition represents your direct ticket for performing on the stage of the George Enescu International Festival, in the 2021 edition.

What is important to know before completing the online application form?
- UPDATE: The George Enescu International Competition extends its application submission deadline until May 29, 2020, due to the ongoing crisis caused by COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, holding on to the hope that in September 2020, when scheduled, the situation will be sufficiently stable, both internationally and in Romania, to allow the competition to unfold. - The online application submission deadline is April 15 2020. This year, for the Cello section, we will organise a single pre-selection session in Bucharest, between 4 and 9 May. The jury will select the competitors based on the video recordings and the complete applications submitted online by the candidates. The selected contestants to enter in the 2020 edition of the Enescu Competition will be announced in May.
- The repertory you will include in the Registration form is the final one and it cannot be modified after the application is submitted. Each candidate will individually determine the order of the works performed in each stage of the Competition.
- Before completing the Registration Form, we invite you to carefully study the Registration Rules and the Program of the Competition and to thorougly prepare yourself for one of the most beautiful experiences you will take part in!
