WELCOME TO THE FIRST ROUND OF THE CELLO SECTION

Between August 30 and September 3 took place the First Round of the Cello Section in the 2020 George Enescu International Competition - this year online:

  • 54 young cellists from 24 countries participate in the First Round, organized this year online. Initially, 105 registered, out of which 85 passed the pre-selection in June.
  • 24 years old – the average age of competitor
  • The youngest competitor is 14 years old; the oldest is 32.
  • Competitors have sent - safely from their homes - the video recordings of their performances that you can watch below.
  • The repertoire was chosen by competitors.

This year our concert hall is online.

With greater reason, the performers’ emotions are heightened. They need a warm audience more than ever before.

We are happy that you supported the competitors in the First Round and sent them virtual applause as well as your messages of praise and cheers, and shared the competitors' videos on Facebook and Instagram!
