Registrations for the Enescu Competition continue! Important updates for the competitors

The organizers of the George Enescu International Competition have made an important update in the Competition Rules in order to support the young musicians to register for this edition.

The competitors are allowed to merge separate recordings together, but each work should be recorded in one take, in the same location. No cuts will be allowed between the parts of the same work. You can find the complete Rules here. Young musicians can register on www.festivalenescu.ro/en (Registration section) for one of the four categories (violin, cello, piano and composition). The deadline for registration is April 15, 2022.

The registration for the Competition is done by filling in a form. The selection process for the first stage of the Competition takes place online by analyzing the videos submitted by the contestants. This takes place between May 1-20, 2022. For the first time in the history of the Competition, the competitors registered for violin, cello and piano who pass the online stage, will directly enter the semifinal.

Mentoring opportunity with Askonas Holt

Askonas Holt is partnering with the George Enescu International Competition in its mission to support young talents in classical music, as the great George Enescu did during his lifetime. One of the world’s leading arts management companies, Askonas Holt has agreed to provide career guidance and mentorship to the piano, violin and cello category winners on a non-exclusive basis for one year.

George Enescu Competition is an international platform for promoting future world-class musicians and for promoting the compositions of the great Romanian composer to the new generation of artists from all over the world. It is thus a natural extension of the George Enescu Festival, the most important cultural event organized in Romania.  Over time, the Enescu Competition has significantly contributed to the promotion and launch of many remarkable musicians, who have always maintained a soulful connection with Enescu and Romania.
