Sică and Rică, then Lola the cat, arrive in a new cultural space that they try to get to know better. They learn a few words in Hungarian, play children’s games with Béla and his friend, the Macedonian Ioska, listen enthusiastically to stories about folklore collections with the help of a wonder instrument called a phonograph, and even have the opportunity to play folk instruments that were previously unknown to them, such as the drâmba or the tulnic. Before returning to Bucharest, the three friends help Béla present to the children in the auditorium The Wooden Prince story, a ballet inspired by a fairy tale about a prince that is in love with a princess, whom an evil spirit tries to prevent from getting close to the one he loves.
