At its third edition, the International Composers Forum, with composer and professor Dan Dediu as coordinating director and moderator, has become a defining element in the 21st Century Music series. Following the tradition of previous editions, the Forum’s discussions aim to present the current musical phenomenon in the international cultural space and to facilitate communication between famous composers, renowned musicians and young students at the beginning of their musical journey.

During the three weekends dedicated to the 21st Century Music series, the audience will enjoy the creations of the composers programmed to have their works performed in the Radio Hall, who will be joined by renowned ensembles, orchestras, conductors and also by Romanian composers.

The International Composers’ Forum is a natural addition to the concerts, offering interested audiences the chance to discuss the composer’s creative process and explore the musical universe he has built. Great personalities such as Salvatore Sciarrino, Francesco Filidei, Dieter Ammann, Jonathan Dove, Patrick Hawes, Peter Jablonski, Tim Benjamin, Martin Torp, Dan Dediu, Adrian Iorgulescu, Cornel Taranu, Gabriel Iranyi, Mihnea Brumariu, Fred Popovici and many others, will share their musical credo and express their opinions during six major events (conferences, debates, round tables) focusing on topics related to contemporary music trends and their interconnection with the daily life of individuals and society.

The conferences and debates organized within the third edition of the International Composers’ Forum will take place at the National University of Music in Bucharest and will be held in English. The schedule of the forum and the programme of concerts in the Music of the 21st Century series can be found on the official website of the George Enescu International Festival, at www.festivalenescu.ro.
