SOUTH KOREA
In-Ju Bang was born in November 1990, in Seosan, South Korea. She studied at the Juilliard Pre-College with Oxana Yablonskaya, at the Mannes School of Music (bachelor studies) with Victor Rosenbaum, then at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover (master studies) with Bernd Goetzke and Ewa Kupiec and the Hochschule für Musik Detmold with Alfredo Perl.
She gave recitals in New York, Heidelberg, Bergen, Hanover, Detmold, and Seoul, and performed as a soloist with the Philharmonisches Kammerorchester Wernigerode. In-Ju Bang is a 1st prize winner of the 2004 Puigcerda Competition and the 2009 B&B International Piano Competition, she won 3rd prize in the New York International Artists Association Piano Competition in 2010 and she was a semi-finalist in the 2018 Isidor Bajic Piano Memorial Competition and the 2021 International Telekom Beethoven Competition.
In-Ju Bang attended masterclasses given by John O’Conor, Fabio Bidini, Tamás Vásáry, Jorge Luis Prats, Cyprien Katsaris, Ignat Solzhenitsyn, Vladimir Feltsman, John Owings, Alon Goldstein, Victor Rosenbaum, Bernd Goetzke, Alfredo Perl, Jan Jiracek von Arnim, Péter Nagy, Julian Martin, and Martin Canin. In 2004, In-Ju Bang recorded the First and Second Piano Concertos by Dmitri Kabalevsky with the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra for Naxos.
