Ioan Hotea

Born 1990 in Baia Mare the Romanian tenor studied in his home town Arts and then Singing. He continued his studies between 2009 and 2013 at the Music Academy in Bucharest and later with the tenor Alberto Cupido in Italy.

He is Winner of various singing competitions: Victor Giuleanu (1st prize), Competition of the National Opera Bucharest (2nd prize), Hariclea Darclée 2015 (Grand Prix) and Operalia Placido Domingo / London 2015 (1st Prize and Zarzuela Prize).

Between 2011 and 2013 he was a member of the National Opera in Bucharest where he expanded his repertoire singing: Nemorino/ L’elisir d’amore, Almaviva / Il barbiere di Siviglia, Don Ottavio / Don Giovanni, Rinuccio/ Gianni Schicchi, Filipeto/ I quattro rusteghi.

During this time he appeared also in numerous vocal-symphonic concerts in Romania (Philharmonic Orchestra George Enescu) and abroad (Philharmonic Orchestra St. Petersburg, Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow).
