Ming-Chun Teng

TAIWAN, CHINA

Ming-Chun Teng was born in September 2000 in Taiwan and he began his violin studies at the age of 8. He currently studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln with Prof. Ariadne Daskalakis. He has performed in masterclass with musicians such as Nai-Yuan Hu, Yu-Chien Tseng, Keng-Yuen Tseng, Bomsori Kim, Ching-Yi Wei, Sirena Huang, Lorenz Chen.

Ming-Chun is the 3rd prize winner of the National Students Competition of Music (High School Division) and the 1st prize winner of the 17th Taichung Second Senior High School Concerto Competition, where he performed the Sibelius Violin Concerto with the school orchestra. In 2017, he won the 12th Academy of Taiwan Strings Violin Competition (High School Division). In 2018, he won the Gold Award of the NTDTV International Violin Competition. In 2019, he won 1st prize and the J. S. Bach special prize at the 13th Academy of Taiwan Strings Violin Competition.

He was invited to play Mozart’s Piano Quartet K. 478 at the National Taichung Theater in Taiwan in 2018, and the following year he was invited to play Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1 Op. 19 and Mozart’s First Violin Concerto at the National Concert Hall in Taiwan.
