Mircea Dumitrescu

ROMANIA

Mircea Dumitrescu was born in 1998 and discovered his passion for the violin at the age of 4. He is currently studying with Prof. Gabriel Croitoru at the National University of Music Bucharest.

He gave recitals and concerts in Romania, Hungary, Sweden, Germany, Italy, France, and Spain. He played as a soloist with the Royal Camerata, Bucharest Symphony Orchestra, and he collaborated with the Romanian Youth Orchestra, Romanian Sinfonietta, and the Virtuosi Orchestra. In 2017 he was invited to participate in a tour in France with the orchestra Les Dissonances. He collaborated with musicians such as Tiberiu Soare, Cristian Măcelaru, Cristian Mandeal, Alexander Sitkovetsky, Horia Andreescu and Alexandru Tomescu. He attended masterclasses with David Grimal, Silvia Marcovici, Sherban Lupu, Liviu Prunaru, Mihaela Martin, Gabriel Croitoru, Remus Azoiței.

He has been supported through scholarships offered by The Margareta of Romania Royal Foundation, Mol Romania Foundation, Dan Voiculescu Foundation, Ciprian Marica Foundation, Martin Sternin Foundation, Bright Light Foundation, Merci Charity Boutique, National Union of Musical Performers in Romania (UNIMIR).
