According to the Ministerial Order no. 168/03.03.2022, Cristina Uruc will temporarily occupy, by secondment, the contractual management position for a maximum period of six months. Starting with October 2021, the interim has been provided by Mrs Carmen Mihăilescu, impresario within the institution.

Cristina Uruc started her career in the field of organizing concerts, cultural events and performances in 2007 at ARTEXIM, gaining over six years of experience in all stages of production and organization of one of the largest classical music festivals in the world. She was the general project manager of the International New Music Week Festival, as well as the tour manager of the famous old music ensembles Il Giardino Armonico and Coro e Orchestra Ghislieri. Since April 2021 Cristina Uruc has been the artistic consultant of the Sibiu State Philharmonic. She studied composition at the National University of Music in Bucharest under the guidance of composer Livia Teodorescu-Ciocănea (Bachelor’s and Master’s degree), and in 2019 she was awarded the title of “Doctor of Music” at the same institution.

The ARTEXIM team, under the leadership of the newly appointed director, continues to organize the 18th edition of the George Enescu International Competition. It will take place in a hybrid formula, with a single online stage, in May 2022, and the Semifinals and Finals will be organised at the Romanian Athenaeum between September 4-18, 2022. Young musicians can register on www.festivalenescu.ro (Registration) in one of the four sections (violin, cello, piano and composition). The deadline for registration is April 15, 2022.
