Nicolò Donini

One of the most interesting young talents in the Italian opera scene, bass Nicolò Donini in 2018 has been admitted to Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro and he had his debut at Rossini Opera Festival as Lord Sidney / Don Prudenzio in Il viaggio a Reims.

Born in Bologna in 1990, Nicolò Donini entered the children’s choir of Teatro Comunale di Bologna when he was eleven years old, then he studied piano at the Conservatory G. B. Martini in Bologna, where he graduated in singing. He has also obtained a degree from the Conservatory A. Boito in Parma, under the guidance of Nemi Bertagni. At the moment he is studying with Antonella D’Amico.
Thanks to Scuola dell’Opera, he had the chance to participate in many productions of Teatro Comunale di Bologna (Madama Butterfly, La traviata, Don Pasquale, Rigoletto) and of Teatro Regio di Parma, where he had his debut in 2016 as Martino in L’occasione fa il ladro.
Member of the Academy “Rodolfo Celletti” in Martina Franca, he could debut several roles at Festival della Valle d’Itria: Seneca in L’incoronazione di Poppea, Luka in The Bear by W. Walton and Atlante in Baccanali by A. Steffani, also recorded live for Dynamic.

In 2017 he had his company debut at Teatro dell’Opera in Rome in Nino Rota’s Lo scoiattolo in gamba and he sang alongside Leo Nucci in the concert celebrating his 50 years of career at Teatro Municipale di Piacenza.
In 2017 he has also been a member of Opera (e)Studio project at Ópera di Tenerife, where he has sung in the productions of I Capuleti e i Montecchi (Lorenzo), La traviata under the baton of Renato Palumbo and Il viaggio a Reims (Trombonok).
