Born in Berlin, Ralf Sochaczewsky began his studies on the university of music, Berlin (UdK) and had his first lessons in conducting with Marc Piollet and Prof. Christian Grube.
He completed his conducting studies on the Academie of Music „HfM Hanns Eisler“, Berlin with Prof. Rolf Reuter and Prof. J-P Weigle.
He was member of the young-conductors program of the german Council of music (Deutscher Musikrat)
He conducted Orchestras like the London Philharmonic, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, National Radio Orchestra Bucarest, Cappella Cracoviensis, Brandenburger Sinfoniker and Chamberorchestra of the Minsk Philharmony.
Ralf Sochaczewsky conducted Opera at the Bolshoi Thatre Moscow (Ruslan and Ljudmila), at the Komische Oper Berlin (Seven sins of death, Orpheus), the Opera National du Rhin and National Theatre Vilnius (Love and other Demons) and Oper-Oder-Spree (Don Giovanni).
From 2008-2010 he assisted Vladimir Jurowski with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, 2011 with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and Mahler Chamber Orchestra.
He was assistant conductor at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera for Love and other Demons by P. Eötvös in 2008 and Rake’s Progress by Stravinski in 2010.
In the season 2003/2004 he was assistant conductor with the netherlands brodcasting choir and worked since regulary with choirs like Rias Kammerchor, Berliner Rundfunkchor, Choeur de Radio France, Capella Amsterdam and Ernst Senff Chor.
Ralf Sochaczewsky is chief conductor of the Berlin Choirs Cantus Domus.
Ralf Sochaczewsky has a particulary interest for historical performance. He studied Barock-Violin with Irmgard Huntgeburth and played in orchestras like Dresdner Barock Orchestra, Batsdorfer Hofkapelle and Ensemble Sans-Souci.
