Rostislav Krimer

One of the leading artists of his generation, pianist and conductor Rostislav Krimer is a long-term collaborator of Yuri Bashmet and for many years was a duo partner of legendary Viennese pianist and great Mozart expert Paul Badura-Skoda also released with him a CD of Mozart concerto for two pianos and orchestra.

He has worked with Krzysztof Penderecki, Gidon Kremer, Maxim Vengerov, Sergey Krylov, Fazil Say and played as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Kremerata Baltica and Moscow Soloists.

Being active promoter of contemporary music, he performed a row of world premieres including new discovered piece of Dmitry Shostakovich, Piano quintet of Bruno Mantovani among many others.

Born in Belarus and based in Bonn, Krimer studied in Helsinki, Cologne and London as well as mentored by Paavo and Neeme Järvi.

In 2018 Krimer was named a Friend of UNICEF and was awarded the honorary title of Star Ambassador of the 2nd European Games. Since 2020, he was named Associate of Royal Academy of Music in London.

He is Artistic Director of the Yuri Bashmet International Music Festival, Chief-Conductor of the East-West Chamber Orchestra.
