ROTTERDAM PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA REPLACES THE ISRAEL PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA AT THE 2021 ENESCU FESTIVAL

On account of the pandemic, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra has had to cancel its concerts at the George Enescu International Festival scheduled for September 11 and 12, 2021.

It will be replaced by the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of artistic director Lahav Shani, with violinist Gil Shaham (September 11) and pianist Yefim Bronfman (September 12) as soloists, as originally announced. Full details of the works on the program will be published on the Festival website in the coming period.

In the September 11 concert Gil Shaham will perform Brahms’ Concerto in D major for violin and orchestra op. 77 with a cadenza by George Enescu, an international premiere.
