Silvia Beltrami

Born in Bologna, she began her vocal studies with mezzosoprano Luana Pellegrineschi and perfected her technique with tenor William Matteuzzi. She made her diploma in music at the “Arrigo Boito” conservatory in Parma. She specialized in the Verdi repertoire with Raina Kabaivanska.

Silvia Beltrami has made numerous debut appearances in recent years, in role such Eboli in Don Carlo at Daegu Opera House (Corea del sud), Ulrica in Ballo in Maschera at Teatro Bolshoi of Mosca and Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, Santuzza in Cavalleria Rusticana for Opera Giocosa di Savona, Requiem di Verdi in Modena, Azucena in Trovatore by Giuseppe Verdi at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Valli di Reggio Emilia, Teatro Comunale di Modena, Teatro Verdi di Pisa, and Rete Lirica delle Marche (Ascoli Piceno, Fano, Fermo, Jesi, Chieti), Amneris in Verdi’s Aida at Royal Opera House Muscat, Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, Teatro Comunale in Sassari, Festival St. Margarethen (Austria) and Daegu Opera House (Corea del Sud); Elisabetta in Maria Stuarda by G.Donizetti at Stadthalle Ternitz (Austria) a role which she also performed at Teatro A.Dvorak in Ostrava; Margarita in Quattro Rusteghi by Wolf-Ferrari with the Royal Liverpool Philarmonic Orchestra conducted by M° Vasily Petrenko; Mrs Quickly in Falstaff in Graz Opernhaus and Staatsoper in Hannover; Beppe in Amico Fritz by Mascagni at Teatro Lirico in Cagliari; Maddalena in Rigoletto at Teatro Regio in Turin conducted by M° Donato Renzetti; Cleofe in La Resurrezione by G.F.Handel at Handel Festspiele in Halle with Lautten Compagney; Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at Festival “Le Settimane Musicali del Teatro Olimpico” in Vicenza; Carmen at Glinka Opera House in Magnitogorsk (Russia) and singing the same role in Festival “Lirica in Piazza” in Massa Marittima (Tuscany). Most recently Ms Beltrami has sung at Teatro Regio in Turin the roles of Suora Zelatrice in Suor Angelica (the same role sung at Opera di Firenze), Mrs Noè in Arca di Noè by B.Britten, Zita in Gianni Schicchi, a role in wich she also performed at Teatro Regio in Parma.

One of the highlights of her career was her performances of Isabella in Italiana in Algeri at Teatro NCPA in Beijing directed by Giancarlo Del Monaco. A role which she also performed at Teatro Filarmonico in Verona directed by Pier Luigi Pizzi and Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo directed by Emilio Sagi, Rosina in Barbiere di Siviglia at Daegu Opera House (South Korea), Teatro Victoria Eugenia in San Sebastian (Spain) and Teatro Filarmonico di Verona.

In 2004 Silvia Beltrami had the honour of winning the As.Li.Co Singing Competion in Milan and debuted the role of Charlotte in Werther conducted by M°Jean Luc Tingaud, Following her success in this production she was invited to appear and thus making debut appearances in the roles of Hermia in Midsummer Night’s Dream by B.Britten in Pisa, Luca and Livorno directed by Lindsay Kemp, Charlotte in Werther at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari conducted by M°Keri Lynn Wilson and Zita in Gianni Schicchi in Cremona, Brescia, Pavia and Como.
She was fortunate to continue her success in the years following, singing Pippo in Gazza Ladra directed by Damiano Michieletto and Suzuki in Madama Butterfly at Arena di Verona, Seoul Arts Center, Teatro Regio di Parma and Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Marchesa Melibea in Viaggio a Reims at Teatro Real di Madrid, Teatro dell’Opera di Lucerna, Teatro Municipale di Piacenza, Rossini di Lugo, Verdi di Busseto and Alfieri di Asti. Nutrice in Inconorazione di Poppea at Teatro Campoamor di Oviedo and Teatro Arriaga in Bilbao directed by Emilio Sagi and Mrs McLean in Susannah by C.Floyd at Teatro ABAO in Bilbao conducted by M°John Mauceri.

Ms Beltrami has made appareances in many festivals, with numerous performances at Festival “Rossini in Wildbad” where she has sung roles including: Zomira in Ricciardo e Zoraide by G.Rossini, Dorina in Ser Marcantonio by S.Pavesi, Geltrude in Noce di Benevento by G.Balducci and Ismene in Siège de Corinthe by G.Rossini.

Ms Beltrami has hade an intense concert schedule with repertoire and appearances, than include Petite Messe Solemnelle by G. Rossini in Pisa Cathedral, Beethoven’s Nona at the Teatro Comunale in Sassari, Mozart’s Requiem at the Cathedral in Ferrara; Cantate by Bach at Bregaglia Bach Festival conducted by M°Stefano Molardi with the ensamble Italian Baroque Academy; Stabat Mater by G.B.Pergolesi with ensamble “I Musici” of Filarmonico Academy in Bologna.
