Ștefan Aprodu

ROMANIA

18-year-old violinist Ștefan Aprodu studies at the Dinu Lipatti High School of Arts in Bucharest, with Magdalena Ursu.

He has already performed with several symphonic orchestras and conductors (David Stern conducting a concert Ad Honorem Ivry Gitlis, Gabriel Bebeșelea – Junior Orchestra, Sabin Păuța – Royal Camerata, Yasuo Minami – Takasaki Junior Orchestra in Japan).

He has just been awarded 1st prize at the International Violin Competition Vasco Abadjiev in Sofia, Bulgaria, but he was also awarded several other important international prizes (Remember Enescu International Competition Bucharest – 1st prize, Muse International Music Competition – 1st prize, Erich Bergel & Dorothy Kitchen International Violin Competition– Grand Trophy, Golden Lyra Suceava – Grand Trophy, The North International Competition – 1st Prize, The Violin Doc International Competition – Grand Trophy, George Manoliu Master of Strings – Grand Trophy).

He is also a promising young composer, and he has been attending the online composition class of Dåsele Vådår Sevaidå at the Norges Musikkhøgskole since 2020. One of his awarded compositions – The Concerto No. 3 for Violin and Orchestra in E minor – is scheduled to be performed this fall with Ștefan as a soloist.

Ștefan participated in several masterclasses with Krzysztof Węgrzyn, Sergey Kravchenko, Igor Petrushevski, Evgeniya Chugaeva, Suren Hakhnazaryan, Mihaela Martin, Silvia Marcovici, Emilian Piedicuta, Gabriel Voicu, David Grimal, and Jean-Marie Gardette.
