The Final of the Piano Section, Live At the Romanian Athenaeum and Online on festivalenescu.ro

On Sunday, May 23, from 6:00 PM (EEST), the Piano Final of the George Enescu International Competition 2020/2021 will take place at the Romanian Athenaeum. Adela Liculescu (Romania), Yeon-Min Park (South Korea), and Marcin Wieczorek (Poland) are the three young pianists qualified for the Final.

The finalists will perform together with the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by maestro John Axelrod. Competitors enter in alphabetical order.

The Piano Final Program:

ADELA LICULESCU (Romania) – Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 1 in B flat minor Op. 23

YEON-MIN PARK (Coreea de Sud) – Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor Op. 30

MARCIN WIECZOREK (Poland) – Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor Op. 1

The results will be announced around 21.00 Romanian time on the stage of Romanian Athenaeum. Piano Section Jury includes Cristina Ortiz (President of the Jury), Dana Borsan, Hyoung-Joon Chang, Philippe Dinkel, Peter Jablonski, Andrei Pisarev, Roland Pöntinen, Josu de Solaun, and Zhe Tang.

The total prize value for the Piano Section is 30,000 EUR, to which is added the privilege of performing on the Enescu Festival stage, as well as special prizes and opportunities for international promotion.
