Only a few weeks are left to register before the application deadline April 15th. An easy application procedure is available on the website www.festivalenescu.ro, following this direct LINK.  Details on the competition rules are also available on the website.

The George Enescu International Competition provides a wide range of opportunities for the young artists.

  • Added to the prizes worth 115,000 EUR, winning the George Enescu International Competition 2018 opens new outstanding international promotion opportunities.  The winners will perform in the 2019 Enescu Festival, alongside “Britten Sinfonia” from UK, Ensemble “LINEA” from France and “Banatul” Filarmonica Philharmonic Orchestra from Timişoara. The winning composition will be performed live in the future edition of the George Enescu Competition.

  • The laureates will also perform in recitals at the Romanian Athenaeum during the 2020 Enescu Competition. The same incentive has been offered to the winners of the 2014 and 2016 Enescu Competition – who are already included in the 2018 programme of the Competition.

  • Young artists will benefit as well from the amazing experience of performing in one of the most beautiful concert halls in Europe, the Romanian Athenaeum. General public will be joining and supporting the young artists. Performances will be broadcasted LIVE internationally on the www.festivalenescu.ro website, as well as by international and national television networks.

Young musicians that are already laureates of any other competition member of the World Federation International Music Competitions benefit from special application terms. Upon submitting the application form (without the video), they will enter directly the First Stage of the Enescu Competition 2018. The only requirement is to provide a proof of their previous winning of one of the above mentioned competitions.  This is also applicable to all semifinalists of the previous Enescu Competition editions.

Celebrating 60 years from the first edition, the George Enescu International Competition will take place between 1 and 23 September 2018. Among the representative members of the jury of this edition are: Philippe Entremont, Pierre Amoyal, Salvatore Accardo, Jean Jacques Kantorow, Viktor Tretiakov, Peter Jablonski, David Geringas, Zygmunt Krauze, Arto Noras, Myung-Whun Chung, Raphael Wallfisch, Jian Wang, Marin Cazacu, Remus Azoiței, Dan Dediu, Silvia Marcovici and others.
