Áron Petruș Bölöni was born in Romania in an artist family and he started to play the cello at the age of 7 in Oradea. At the age of 11 he was admitted at the Bartòk Conservatory in Budapest, to the special talents class. In June 2010, he was accepted at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest.
During his studies, he gave concerts as a soloist in Romania (Oradea, Satu Mare, and Arad Philharmonics), and also with the Zuglò Philharmonic Orchestra, Danube Symphony Orchestra, Anima Musicae Chamber Orchestra, Santander Encuentro Chamber Orchestra.
Áron participated in masterclasses given by Steven Isserlis, Ivan Monighetti, Frans Helmerson, Gustav Rivinius, László Mező, Tamás Mérei, Pál Banda, Jonathan Cohen, Friedrich Gauwerky, Tamás Varga, Dmitry Ferschtman, and Lluis Claret. In 2016 he finished his master studies in the class of cellist Miklós Perényi.
As chamber musician he had the chance to participate in several festivals in Hungary, Romania, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Italy, Slovakia, Spain, and China. In 2012, he took part of in a chamber music tour in Italy and Switzerland with pianist Martha Argerich and violinist Hosszú Géza Legocky. In April 2013, he played in Sassari, Sardinia, with Sir James Galway, Kristóf Baràti and the Anima Musicae Chamber Orchestra. Since 2013, he participated at the International Holland Music Sessions masterclass and festival, the Santander Festival, and the International Summer Academy and Festival in Pommersfelden. In 2019 Áron was selected to be part of the Hungarian Radio Orchestra, and in 2020 he was accepted to the Malmö Music Academy, where he studied with Andreas Brantelid.
He won the 2nd prize at the 2008 János Starker Cello Competition, 3rd prize at the 2008 National Ottó Kertész Cello Competition, the Junior Príma Award as member of Anima Musicae Chamber Orchestra.
