George Enescu International Festival and Samsung are launching the application Enescu Experience: in harmony with the city

The Enescu Experience application provides users the opportunity to discover the George Enescu International Festival and its associated programs in a new dimension, directly on the mobile phone. Launched today, August 26th and available for free on Google Play and AppStore, the app shows the closest events related to the Festival on the map of Bucharest, but also the unique ways in which the general public can enjoy the experience offered by the festival.

The Enescu Experience app includes both the over one hundred concerts that are part of the festival, as well as the associated programs, respectively several hundred other events in unconventional spaces, outdoors, museums and so on. By allowing the location on the phone, each user will receive notifications about nearby events and can even set routes to navigate to different points on the map.

The map uses the Google Maps service, and by the means of the Festival calendar available in the app, users can choose to view only one-day events on the map. Also, with the help of filters, only the events in the festival itself or the associated programs which take place throughout Bucharest can be chosen. “The festival belongs to us all, thanks to Enescu’s genius. Even if the rooms have a physical limitation, the joy of music is unassuming. Our partners developed this idea. I was especially pleased to see what the map of Bucharest looks like in the colors of the festival, with various events in which, together with the partners, we tried to offer this joy to the widest audience. This year’s edition is the most extensive so far, but only after you see the map in the application, you will realize what this means” said Mihai Constantinescu, executive director of the George Enescu International Festival.

Festival concerts, live broadcasts and recordings in public spaces, alternative concerts, guided tours throughout the city or workshops of Romanian artists, film screenings, exhibitions, after-party events, tastings, book launches, live performances are all marked on a map of possible experiences and through proximity notifications, music lovers and not only, will be able to see which events are the closest and available. The application includes brief details about each event and links for scheduling participation or for more detailed documentation.

“As a partner with tradition - we are a partner for innovation of the George Enescu Festival for the third edition this year - and as a brand that supports innovation in the cultural field, we considered the need to create a mobile application to amplify the experience of the participant in the effervescence of the festival and for the well-informed public seeking to be permanently informed through the digital space. The Enescu Experience application brings all the festival spirit together, integrating both the festival experiences and the associated programs. We are glad that we were able to make available to the general public an easy digital tool, to improve the experience with the festival and the memorability of related cultural events. We bring our gratitude to the Festival team who coagulated the efforts of all partners to facilitate information and access to the full range of event,” said Simona Panait, Marketing Director, Samsung Romania & Bulgaria.

Available for both Android and iOS phones, the app will be constantly updated with information to provide a complete festival experience.
