Mathematics can create some of the most beautiful shapes. And anyone can see – and hear them – at the George Enescu Festival this year. A fascinating exhibition of interactive mathematics is put on display as part of the series 21st Century Music. It is for the first time that the successful exhibition Imaginary has come to Romania. Over the past seven years, this exhibition has been presented in 50 countries and it has attracted over 2.5 million people.

Aside from illustrating the beauty of mathematics, the exhibition allows visitors to create their own mathematical art by using a special software. And as a particular feature, five new apps turn the relationship between mathematics and music into images and sounds.

Imaginary is a German non-profit organisation which promotes education and knowledge of mathematics all over the world.
