The music event “In the footsteps of the maestros” aims to bring to life the memory of the two genius musicians George Enescu and Dinu Lipatti, as well as the memory of the concerts that the two used to give together.
The event includes a CD release with the original composition “In memoriam” Suite no. 1 in E minor for violin and piano by Matei Bucur Mihăescu, which has its world premiere this spring, in Vienna, at the prestigious Barocksaal of the Altes Rathaus, where it had a remarkable success.
At the release event, Sabin Penea and Matei Bucur Mihăescu will give an extraordinary violin-piano recital. The programme includes works by George Enescu, Dinu Lipatti, Matei Bucur Mihăescu. For this event, the “George Enescu” National Museum has allowed the use of the “Paul Kaul” violin, part of our national patrimony, built specially for the maestro George Enescu.
