A complex musical personality, Luminitza Petre focused specialized press attention since her first appearances on the musical stage. She is a violinist, conductor, member of various chamber music ensembles, founder and manager of various musical orchestras and festivals.
The violinist Luminitza Petre recorded on a double CD, the Integral of Solo Violin Sonatas and Partitas by J.S.Bach which was highly appreciated in press reviews and was nominated for the Academy Award in Tokyo 2006.
A long orchestral practice, 25 years as a concert-master at the Stuttgart State Orchestra and both at the Bach International Academy or the Heilbronn Chamber Orchestra, has boosted the start of her conducting career.
The chamber concerts with the Clara Wieck Piano Trio in Heidelberg as well as the didactic work as a lecturer at the Baden-Wurttemberg Land Youth Orchestra have perfected her artist’s personality.
In 2007, after the Romania’s entrance into the European Union, she set up “Camerata Enescu” and “George Enescu Festival” in Stuttgart under the auspices of the German Romanian Forum and the Romanian Consulate in Munich.
Luminitza Petre is a Bucharest Academy of Music graduate – the class of professors Valeriu Rogacev and Cornelia Bronzetti. She attended master classes with Stefan Gheorghiu, Valery Gradow, Zachar Bron in Mannheim and Vienna.
She is awarded the Tibor Varga International Contests Sion Switzerland, Rodolfo Lipizer Gorizia Italy and Dinu Lipatti National Contests Craiova, “The 3rd Sonata by George Enescu” Oradea, “Music Critics Award” Bucharest, etc.
Luminitza Petre seriously approached her career as a conductor. For this purpose she studied and successfully completed master classes at the mentor’s class of Prof. Jorma Panula at Royal Academy Stockholm and Helsinki, Sir Colin Matters at Royal Academy London and Salvatore Masconde in Vienna.
Artistic impulses were also received from Gennady Roshdestvensky (Moscow), Michael Schönwand (Copenhagen), Manfred Honeck (Stuttgart), Leopold Hager (Vienna).
So far she has conducted symphonic repertoire with the Philharmonic Orchestras of Nuremberg, Vogtland, Moscow, Oradea, Timisoara, Ploiesti, Radio Romania Chamber Orchestra. During the Stuttgart State Orchestra season, she conducted chamber concerts.
She approached the lyrical repertoire by conducting “Cosi fan tutte” at the Brasov State Opera.
