Minsung Lee

SOUTH KOREA

Minsung Lee was born on July 1, 1990, in Seoul, South Korea, and began studying piano at the age of 13. He attended Sunhwa Arts School and Sunhwa Arts High School. He pursued his bachelor and master studies at the Seoul National University with Hyungjoon Chang. In 2016, he moved to Leipzig, Germany, to study at the Hochschule für Musik und  Theater with Gerald Fauth. Currently he studies with Pavel Gililov at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria.

In 2011, Minsung Lee had his solo recital and orchestra debuts in Seoul. After that he has performed in major Europe and Asia cities, including Barcelona, Berlin, Kassel, Leipzig, Madrid, Nice, Paris, Prague, Rome, Salzburg, Busan, Jeju, Seoul, Singapore, Tokyo. He performed with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Korean National Symphony Orchestra, Leipzig Chamber Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Vallès Symphony Orchestra.

Minsung Lee won several prizes in international competitions: 2nd Prize, the Audience Prize, and the Catalonia Special Prize at the Maria Canals International Competition; 1st Prize at the Korea Piano Open International Competition; 2nd Prize at the Valsesia Musica International Competition, Marbella International Competition, Val Tidone International Competition.
