Nine musicians qualified to the Semifinal of the Piano Section at the Enescu Competition 2018

Three young musicians from Russia, two from Romania and one each from China, Japan, Latvia and Kazakhstan qualified to the Semifinal of the Piano Section at the “George Enescu” International Competition 2018. The results were announced on Wednesday evening by the specialized jury.

The Second Round of the “George Enescu” International Competition 2018, Piano Section, took place on September 18th and 19th, at the Romanian Athenaeum in Bucharest. The specialized jury decided on Wednesday, September the 19th, the contestants qualified for the Semifinal of the Competition:

Anna Grot (Russia), Alexander Panfilov (Russia), Xuanyi Mao (China), Oxana Shevchenko (Kazakhstan), Iulia Marin (Romania), Florian Mitrea (Romania), Daria Parkhomenko (Russia), Ryutaro Suzuki (Japan) și Daumants Liepins (Latvia).

The Jury of the Piano Section at the 2018 edition of the Enescu Competition is formed of Philippe Entremont (President of the Jury), Hyoung-Joon Chang, Dan Atanasiu, Dana Borșan, Andrei Pisarev, Pascal Rogé, Peter Jablonski and Philippe Dinkel.

The Semifinal of the Enescu Competition takes place on the 21st of September, starting 09:00, at the Romanian Athenaeum. Tickets for the Piano Semifinal are available in the EVENTIM network.

The Final of the Competition, Piano Section, consisting of three concerts with orchestra, with the participation of the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, conductor Vassily Sinaisky, will take place on the 23rd of September, at 19:00, in the Grand Hall of the Romanian Athenaeum.

Tickets for the Piano Final, which closes this edition of the Enescu Competition, are sold-out, but the public can watch the final live broadcasted internationally on www.festivalenescu.ro.

Organised as a stand-alone event since the 2014 edition, “George Enescu” International Competition invites the audience to discover some of the most talented young artists today, great names of tomorrow’s classical music, and to follow and support their journey to the top: winning the competition. This year “George Enescu” International Competition  celebrates 60 years after the first edition of the Competition.
