The Teatro Comunale Orchestra from Bologna is performing for the first time on the stage of the George Enescu International Festival

Due to objective reasons, the participation of the Mozart Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Daniele Gatti, will no longer take place. The concert scheduled at the Romanian Athenaeum on September 23, 2023, at 5:00 PM, will be performed by the Bologna Municipal Theatre Orchestra, conducted by  Roberto Abbado.

Making its debut appearance on the stage of the Festival, the Bologna Municipal Theatre Orchestra has enjoyed a vibrant concert activity in recent years, with numerous collaborations with prestigious musicians and conductors, as well as extensive tours in China and Japan.

Its artistic director, Roberto Abbado, will be conducting the concert at the festival, marking his second participation in the George Enescu International Festival.

Anna Tifu (violin) and Răzvan Popovici (viola) will remain as the soloists of the concert scheduled for September 23, at 5:00 PM, at the Romanian Athenaeum, and the program will continue to include George Enescu’s Ballade for Violin and Orchestra, Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat major for Violin, Viola, and Orchestra K. 364, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68.
