Born in Brasov, conductor Ciprian Țuțu graduated Arts High School in 1998 (instrument – trombone and theoretical studies). He attended the Faculty of Music in Brașov (license 2003 – academic choir conducting and master in 2005 – conducting stylistics), with the guidance of masters Nicolae Bica (choir conducting) and Ludovic Bács (orchestra conducting). Between 2006-2008 he attended courses supported by conductors Victor Dumănescu (Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca), Octav Calleya (Superior Conservatory of Music in Malaga, Spain) and Mihai Diaconescu (University of Music in Bucharest). In 2013 he presented his doctoral thesis in the National University of Music Bucharest, earning the title of Doctor of Music (Magna cum laude).
Ciprian Țuțu began his teaching career at the Faculty of Music of the Transylvania University as the conductor of opera class (2004-2012), conductor of the choir specialization Music Pedagogy (2005-present), conductor of the orchestra of the Faculty of Music (2009-2013). Since 2000, he is the conductor of the „Gheorghe Dima” Choir in Braşov, ensemble whose origins we find in the Romanian Gymnastics and Singing Reunion once established by the composer Gheorghe Dima himself and whose continuity was assured by the activity conductors Constantin Bobescu and Nicolae Bica.
In 2011 he joins the Anatoly vocal quintet participating in concerts, recitals, festivals and competitions in the country and abroad. Together with the other members of the band they released two compact discs – Secret Garden (2012) and Christmas Story (2013) – which he signs as an interpreter (baritone) and arranger.
From 2011 to 2016 Ciprian Tutu holds the position of choirmaster at the Brasov Opera preparing or directing the choir of the institution in more than 100 performances during the four seasons, of which we list only the premieres of works: Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, Puccini’s Tosca, Il Tabarro by Puccini, Mozart’s The Magic Flute, Il Trovatore by Verdi, operetta Das Land des Lächelns by Lehár and Stabat Mater oratory by Rossini. Ciprian Ţuţu also lead 7 galas or concerts of arias and choruses from operas with the Brasov Opera Orchestra between 2013 and 2015
In 2015 he obtains a scholarship from the Transilvania University of Brasov and participates in The International Masterclass for Conducting and Choral Singing in Sarteano, Italy, where he has the opportunity to study with Simon Carrington (Yale University USA, founder of The King’s Singers Sextet), Brian O’Connell (Boston University USA) and Bronislawa Falinski (Padua Music Conservatory, Italy).
In February 2016, Ciprian Ţuţu becomes conductor of the Academic Radio Choir of Bucharest.
